Great Santa Run to Benefit Opportunity Village

The holidays are upon us, and it's no surprise that Las Vegas, a city that always knows how to celebrate in style, offers plenty of ways to get in the Christmas spirit. Our real estate agents are always on the lookout for fun things to do in the Las Vegas area, and we just wanted to let you know that the Las Vegas Great Santa Run—one of our favorite holiday events of the year—is right around the corner.

Holiday Run in Las Vegas

Even for Las Vegas, the sight of thousands of Santas jogging through the streets is a bit unusual. But every year, the Las Vegas Great Santa Run benefiting Opportunity Village brings this unexpected sight to Downtown Las Vegas, as more than 8,000 participants take part in what has become one of the city's most beloved and iconic holiday traditions.

Now in its 13th year, the Great Santa Run is a race like no other, giving participants a chance to not only try their hand at a challenging 5K or 1-mile run, but to do so dressed in full Santa Claus attire.

Fun for a Good Cause

The Las Vegas Great Santa Run benefits Las Vegas' favorite charity, Opportunity Village. This not-for-profit organization helps people with disabilities in the Las Vegas area. The run hopes to raise funds as well as awareness for Opportunity Village, which supports more than 3,000 individuals with intellectual and related disabilities throughout the Las Vegas Valley.

Registration Now Open

This event is open to walkers and runners of all ages, shapes and sizes, even the four-legged variety—participants are welcome to bring their pets along for the event. Registration is open now through the Las Vegas Great Santa Run website.

The 2017 Great Santa Run takes place on December 3 in Downtown Las Vegas, and registration will be open until December 2. Participants will receive a Santa suit for the race free of charge, and are invited to take part in a number or related events throughout the day, including the new Blitzen's Bar Crawl, which takes place after the race and offers great drink specials at participating bars in Downtown Las Vegas. Live entertainment, a Zumba class and zip line rides will also be available on the day of the race.
