Las Vegas Speakeasy Cocktail Bars-Wardley Real Estate

Prohibition ended in 1933, but speakeasies are roaring back to life in recent years, and Las Vegas is certainly no exception. In fact, Sin City—where saloons with lax rules got raided on the regular, even in the middle of that federal ban—just might be the most fitting place to grab an undercover cocktail in a swanky, secretive locale. Our real estate agents know all about scouting little-known properties before others catch wind of them. We also have fun finding a different kind of venue: a bar that's so discreet, it has no curb appeal—or curb—at all.

Do you want to escape to some speakeasies during your search for Las Vegas homes for sale? Start with one of these five hidden bars, perfect for pleasing your taste buds and satiating your sense of adventure all at once:

  1. The Laundry Room - 525 Fremont St.
Want to work for your custom cocktails? The Laundry Room is a reservation-only backroom of a different Freemont Street hotspot (Commonwealth Bar and Club). To taste one of their lovingly curated cocktails, you have to text a secret number for permission and adhere to some pretty strict rules. One of them is no photography, so you'll have to find out for yourself what it's like to wash away your worries at The Laundry Room.

  2. The Underground at the Mob Museum - 300 Stewart Ave.
If you truly want to immerse yourself in the ways and tastes of Prohibition-era Vegas, start at the source. After checking out The Mob Museum, head down the back stairs for a truly immersive experience. The Underground at the Mob Museum is a speakeasy and distillery that serves special edition moonshine and hosts live evening entertainment on an intimate stage.

  3. Velveteen Rabbit - 1218 Las Vegas Blvd.
Channel your inner child while enjoying some adult refreshments at Velveteen Rabbit, a whimsical cocktail lounge in the heart of our city's eccentric downtown arts district. Helpful mixologists will make you feel cool and catered to, but make sure you order a drink from their menu too. (Spoiler alert: one contains actual caviar.) The bar's name was inspired by a beloved children's book, and it embraces a childlike sense of wonder, selling art and vintage furniture and hosting live bands and DJs on their outdoor stage. If cocktails with fresh local ingredients aren't your thing, choose from 12 different brews on tap and others by the bottle.

  4. Ghost Donkey - 3710 Las Vegas Blvd.
Don't be fooled by the bizarre name. Ghost Donkey, a swanky mezcal and tequila bar that also dishes out experimental Mexican cuisine, is an upscale experience tucked inside The Cosmpolitan's Block 16 Urban Food Hall. Craft cocktails and customized flights make it easy to sample lots of specialty spirits, and you can trade the usual communal peanuts for a pile of trademark Truffle Nachos with house-made hot sauces.

  5. Herbs & Rye - 3713 W. Sahara Ave.
There's nothing more Vegas than a half-off steak, and Herbs & Rye has one of the most delicious around. Come to this old-school Italian joint between 5 and 8 p.m. for unbelievable happy hour deals like half-price entrées. While you're there, enjoy drinks that are handcrafted just for you.

Interested in buying a home in Las Vegas? Our city is an exciting place to live, and we want you to enjoy its world-class cocktails and cuisine as soon as possible. Contact Wardley Real Estate to find an experienced agent who can help you get started.
