Las Vegas Fremont Street

When people think about visiting Las Vegas, they usually think first about our amazing casinos. Although Las Vegas is undoubtedly the home of some of the world's greatest casinos, it has a lot more to offer – including thrills and surprises many visitors don't even know about.

"Sin City" is also one of the world capitals of live entertainment, including street shows that can be as colorful and energetic as anything you would find on a casino's main stage.

And when it comes to unforgettable street theater, there is no place like Fremont Street.

Fremont Street Offers Astounding Las Vegas Adventures

Las Vegas Fremont Street Interior

Fremont Street is the heart of Downtown Las Vegas and every bit a part of its character as the famous Strip. Starting off as the central street in the Vegas business district, it has grown to become a major attraction in its own right and the hub for thousands of street performers annually.

It consists of a two-mile stretch of a car-free area known as the Fremont Street Experience, which hosts a variety of events each and every day. The most famous of these is the light show, Viva Vision. This spectacular display happens on the hour beginning at 6:00 p.m. throughout much of the year.

Free concerts happen regularly in the area around Viva Vision, which is centered on an LED display canopy consisting of 12 million LED lights. There are three permanent stages that can be used for all manner of performances, and top superstars have held shows here.

Fremont Street Zipline

Fremont is also famous for the SlotZilla zip line attraction.

This 12-story, slot machine-themed experience offers the opportunity to enjoy a breathtaking view of Vegas from either 77 feet or 114 feet up. The higher "Zoomline" lines run the entire length of the pedestrian mall, an incredible third of a mile.

You Won't Believe This Crazy Cast of Characters

Las Vegas Binion's Fremont Street

Fremont Street is a short journey from the main Strip, but there are some casinos and hotels that are situated right nearby – including Binion's Gamblin' Hall, Golden Gate Hotel and Casino, and The Plaza Hotel and Casino, among others.

No matter where you decide to make home base, however, you don't have to visit Fremont at any particular time to see sights you'll never forget. In fact, there's always something going on from morning to night.

This is all thanks to the amazing assortment of street performers.

Every single day, Fremont Street sees hundreds of costumed characters including the likes of Batman, Spider-Man, Darth Vader, Hello Kitty, Spongebob, Alf, and many others. They are always ready to take photos with tourists of all ages.

Other performers include jugglers, clowns, magicians, musicians, and even comedians.

Although it can get chaotic at times, this adds to the lively atmosphere that has captivated so many people. Despite the crowds, Fremont is very safe. Plus, recent changes in how spaces are allocated to individual performers have made things much more comfortable for everyone.

Some of Vegas's top home-grown acts have actually begun right here!
