Las Vegas Area Hiking Trails - Wardley Real Estate

One of the best parts of living in the Las Vegas area is the abundance of natural beauty. Odds are you're going to want to hit some trails this winter when the air is cool, and you don't have to worry about the sweltering summer heat.

In addition to helping you find the home of your dreams, our real estate agents can also share their knowledge of the surrounding areas. Here are five great hikes to try this winter in the Las Vegas area.

  1. Liberty Bell Arch - White Rock Canyon - Boulder City
If you've been looking for Boulder City homes for sale, you already know that Liberty Bell Arch has a little bit of everything for outdoorsy types of all stripes. This trail runs near Boulder City and is usually closed during the summer due to heat. During winter, however, it's a gorgeous hike and an ideal spot for families and groups looking for a place to have a picnic while taking in some incredible scenery. On this 6-mile round trip, you will see canyons, an abandoned mine, spectacular views of the Colorado River, before capping things off with the Liberty Bell Arch itself, a stunning natural rock formation.
  2. Slab Rift - Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area - Las Vegas
Slab Rift is a fun, somewhat challenging trail near a variety of Las Vegas homes for sale. This hike is ideal for those getting into scrambling, or hiking trails with terrain steep enough that you need to use your hands. This route is ideal for groups of adults who are a bit more experienced. It's rocky and full of obstacles that should entertain hikers who want something more challenging than a simple walk.

  3. Black Mountain - Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area - Henderson
This trail sits in the Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area, near homes for sale in Henderson. It's a class 2 scrambling trail, so it's not too difficult to traverse. However, the 7.6-mile round trip can be daunting. This is definitely a trail for those who are looking for a long, scenic hike. If you're looking for a good outdoor cardio workout, Black Mountain is the trail for you.

  4. Frenchman Mountain Trail - Shadow Rock Park - North Las Vegas
Standing 4,056 feet over Las Vegas, Frenchman Mountain provides a beautiful hike with some spectacular views. This 4.4-mile round trip is very steep, so be sure to bring a walking stick and wear a good pair of boots. If a steep hike isn't too daunting for you, take a break from looking at North Las Vegas homes for sale, and you'll be rewarded with an incredible view of the city. This is definitely a trail for more experienced hikers with plenty of stamina, but it's well worth it.

  5. Kraft Mountain Loop - Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area - Las Vegas
This 3-1/4 mile trail loops around Kraft Mountain offers some beautiful sights for hikers looking for a path that isn't too difficult. The loop can be walked in either direction, and hikers can enjoy the sight of sandstone cliffs and seasonal pools.
