When you choose to buy one of the many beautiful Las Vegas homes for sale, you are choosing to join a community that cares about one another. Beyond the glitz and glamour of the Strip, Las Vegas is a community where people pull together to support those who need a helping hand. September 5th, 2019 is the International Day of Charity, and the following are some local organizations that can use your support to make our community stronger.
- Las Vegas Rescue Mission
For nearly 50 years, the volunteers and staff at the Las Vegas Rescue Mission have spread a message of hope and healing throughout the city. Each month they provide more than 30,000 meals and other services to homeless residents. They take donations of food, clothing, cash, and other real property to support their mission to help those in need.
- Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth (NPHY)
The number of homeless teenagers in Las Vegas is growing every year. The team at NPHY works hard to provide these young men and women with access to counseling, career training, drug treatment, employment opportunities, and much more. This charity provides more than just a bed for the night; they provide a ladder that homeless teenagers can climb to reach their goals. While food, clothing, and money are always welcome donations, they also appreciate volunteers and mentors.
- Las Vegas Opportunity Village
The incredible people at Opportunity Village are helping individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities achieve their dreams. They provide several rehabilitative and educational programs so that they can pursue the careers and lifestyles they want to achieve. Through multiple businesses and business partnerships, these men and women are doing their part to keep the economy of Clark County strong and healthy.
- The Shade Tree
Domestic violence is a persistent problem in Las Vegas, that's where The Shade Tree comes in to help. These dedicated professionals provide shelter from the storm for battered women and children. The services they provide are akin to a supportive hand helping abuse survivors move forward safely. Monetary donations are always welcome, as are donations of towels, bedding, clothing, and toiletries.
- The Animal Foundation
Many people overlook the growing number of abandoned pets and abused animals in Las Vegas. Fortunately, The Animal Foundation has a watchful eye that sees them all. They provide veterinary care, shelter, and give TLC to these pets in need. You can always donate cash for their cause, dog treats, beds, toys, and other items the four-legged residents will love. Who knows? You might even decide you want to invite a furry friend to share your new Las Vegas home with you.
